Most facility executives today probably wouldn’t think about operating a large building without some form of building automation system in place.

For years, building automation systems required a network of wires to link components such as temperature sensors and VAV controllers to the automation system. The expense of laying cable — and the sheer difficulty of reaching certain places — has meant some existing buildings simply didn’t get the optimum automation system.

Today, wireless is helping to bring added control to existing buildings that either had limited BAS systems, or simply had controls that weren’t optimized for a building’s layout because of the need to run wiring. It’s a development that is helping to reduce energy consumption and boost indoor environmental quality.

Our program includes the installation of a suite of wireless, and wired web-based automation technologies to provide optimized automation and control of the facilities boiler plants, HVAC equipment, and other key energy consuming equipment.  The facility-wide network of distributed controllers will run primary control functions. The facilities Ethernet network provides the communication bridge.

Our wireless technology enables easy data gathering and analysis throughout the entire facility in real time. These sensors monitor comfort from multiple points in all zones. Facility LAN and wireless repeaters relay operating data to the controllers. Controllers adjust boiler/pump performance to ensure comfort and maximize efficiency. When data from these sensors is fed back to our Ethernet-enabled automation controllers, the communication loop is closed and proper control is accomplished.

This web-based system is accessible from the Internet and designed to empower facilities personnel with information to make it easy to provide reliable comfort efficiently.
